Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International individuals to turn a unique, innovative, world-changing idea into reality. Finalists are given funding, publicity, and help with other resources in order to get their idea off the ground. Funding is intended for ideas that will make the world a better place.
Applicants must be closely affiliated with an existing organization that will help them execute their ideas. The idea must be ready for action so that winners could begin working towards the goal within the first year of funding.
The Audacious Project aims to: (1) encourage the world’s greatest change-agents to dream bigger (2) shape the best ideas into viable multi-year plans and (3) present those ideas in a compelling way to potential supporters. The goal is to make philanthropy more collaborative, more inspiring — and more effective.

Applicants for The Audacious Project will be considered and informed of their status on a rolling basis throughout the application period.
The process begins with a short application. The most promising 200 applicants will be invited to make a fuller description of their plan. Each candidate idea goes through a rigorous due diligence process, with research and vetting done by staff at both TED and its partner, Bridgespan. They finally drill down to five ideas that are both truly audacious and have a viable path to execution. The five are likely to span a wide area of issues. These five initiatives are unveiled at the annual TED Conference in the spring, and are also presented privately to groups of donors. The goal is that each initiative attracts a community of supporters.
Then the hard work starts. Ideas that are part of The Audacious Project typically have a timeline of three to five years. Supporters will typically commit a level of financial support paid annually, provided project milestones are met. TED offers supporters regular updates and passes on their ideas, messages of encouragement and offers of other resources.
