Scholarships of up to $1,000 to New Jersey youth in eligible regions to defray the costs of travel programs to Israel. The purpose of this program is to provide opportunities to residents in grades 9-12 to experience Israel with an organized program. Scholarship recipients must be residents of Middlesex or Monmouth County.

Eligible programs are tuition-based, organized Zionist youth trips to Israel that may include visits to other countries such as Eastern Europe (i.e. March of the Living). 

Recipients traveling during the summer may also apply for The Anne and Herbert Goldstein Fund for Summer Youth Travel, an additional $1,000 competitive grant. See Section 5 of the application for more information.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship recipients will reside in Middlesex or Monmouth County, enter 9th – 12th grade and will be eligible to receive this scholarship one time only.

Pre-proposal Conference:

To be eligible for a scholarship, recipients must agree to perform local community service on March 29th, 2020, as part of J-Serve, the international day of Jewish teens community service. Scholarship recipients and/or one of their parents must agree to participate in a call-out, and help the Federation raise money for grants, teen programs and much more, by making phone calls to donors (training will be provided).

Pre-Application Information:

All applications must be submitted by April 19, 2020.

If a scholarship is awarded, payment is made directly to the program provider.
